Love Builds Up (1 Corinthians 8:1-13) Printable Bible Lesson & Sunday School Activities
Format 📩 Instant PDF Download
🚸 Ages 6-12 Years Old
This lesson focuses on a passage that can seem complicated for kids, but has an important message. In 1 Corinthians 8, Paul describes how eating meat sacrificed to idols is not necessarily wrong, but should be avoided if it causes others to sin. It’s important to communicate to children that there are some laws God clearly commands and some decisions He allows us to make, but all actions should be taken with love and concern for our neighbor in mind. This lesson uses game rules and special crafts to illustrate the principles the epistle explains.
God loves us and gives us His grace and mercy. He has given us the law, but even more important to us, He’s given His Son. The blood of Jesus covers all sin, and because of that we are not bound to a series of rules. It’s important when teaching this lesson to emphasize that we are free to make decisions on a lot of “gray areas” that are not defined in Scripture. However, we should also consider how our actions and choices will impact others. As God loves us, we love and care for those around us.
